A lot of things go into a great outdoor space: an evenly cut lawn, lighting, and an attractive arrangement of plants to name a few. As the Summer heat turns up, adding a water feature can have a huge impact on the look and feel of how ‘cool’ your space is. Luckily, a water feature can be achieved in a variety of ways allowing you to stay within budget and keeping to your personal style.
Waterfalls are great option if you want a more natural feel in your space. Flowing water helps create ambience through look and sound. Many systems are poodles, so water is pumped back to the top of the fall once it reaches the bottom. Another plus- most waterfall features are fairly easy to maintain once they’ve been installs.
These aren’t just for traditional Japanese gardens. Koi ponds can add interest to a lot of different spaces. There are even kits available if you want to try installing the pond yourself; of course, you can hire a professional as well. Keep in mind- you’re responsible for the health of the Koi fish, so you should be sure to look into what maintenance is required.
These are the perfect way to accent a small space. Some fountains are small enough to be placed on a small table or bench! This also allows for smaller fountains to either be mobile, or to be easily replaced if you decide to re-decorate. Of course, fountains can be grand as well; options are just about endless to suit your taste.
